Suunto is famous for its legendary freesiving watches the D4 and D6, more recently the D4f was released as a freediving only watch.
Our top pick for most divers, free and scuba is the Suunto D4i, it performs consistently and reliably and is used by all our dive instructors.
The watch has fully featured freediving, basic and scuba modes. These include surface time, CO2 tables, Nirox, descent and ascent alarms, no fly time, gas time, total dive time, maximum depth, gas time, wirelless air integration, lifetime diving history... and so on.
Suunto also offers an interactive learning tool for the watch and you can get detailed data off the watch with the included USB cable and the Suunto DM5 software available for Mac and PC.
Since the watch does have MANY features have to spend some tome familiarising yourself with the watch BEFORE you go diving.
The main downside of the watch is that it must be returned to Suunto to service the battery, which can be done through any Suunto sales representative like Ultimate 360.
The D6i includes a sapphire crystal display and a 3D compass and a gauge mode. It is also available in more premium finishes and is a more attractive day to day watch.

Practical and stylish fitness monitoring with up to two weeks battery life!!

The Polar A360 has four qualities which I find most desirable in a fitness watch at a reasonable price, battery life, easy charging, waterproof to at least 20 meters and it can tell the time!!!
You also get a reasonably accurate HR monitor and a good iPhone and Android app which can sync with your phon while offline (which me previous Garmin could not do). That is awesome for me as I travel and often don't have an internet connection.
The battery lasts about a week and you can extend that by going into flight mode on the watch (I manage 12-13 days usually). The watch recharges through a standard micro USB so that is awesome. However the cover is prone to getting lost so I have had to resort to sing blue tack to water seal the USB port.
The touchscreen allows you to interacet with the watch, monitor your heart, stop start and pause activities as well as track your progress.
There are a few downsides to the watch. The silicone strap gets flexible with use at the point it holds the tracker. This means the tracker is prone to falling out of the strap, especially if your someone like me and like your watch to be a bit loose on the wrist.
Another inconvenience is the battery cover, for some reason not only can you open the cover you can also completely remove it and it comes off quite easily! I lost mine going through security at an embassy and was not allowed to search for it. So I had to resort to blue tack.
Moral of the story, wear your watch as tight as you can stand and always make sure the charging door is securly closed other wise it will probably get lost.
